Applications of Electromagnetism
The MCB contains an electromagnet, which energises when a huge current flows through it.
The electromagnet will cause the switch to be off when it exceeds a certain current limit (20A).
The ELCB contains an electromagnet (trip coil), which energises when there is an unbalance of current in the live and neutral wire of more than 30 mA.
The search coil detects an unbalance of current in the live and neutral wire.
